Special Events
Join us throughout the week for special events as we gather in unity, embracing the spirit of the season. Welcome to a season of shared joy and anticipation!
This opportunity to offer an alternative Christmas gift will be available December 1 through December 22. Through a donation to the Giving Tree, you can honor a family member, friend, teacher, or coworker with a gift made in their name to IPC Social Services and/or the Children’s Fresh Air Farm. A $10 donation per card is suggested, but all donations are accepted to help our neighbors who are struggling with food, shelter, utilities, transportation, and medical needs, as well as the children and families that benefit from our services at CFAF.
Cards to share with your loved one can be picked up in the Parlor on Sundays and during church office hours from Catherine Sager in the Community Ministries Suite. Join us in giving your loved one a special gift of love, compassion, and generosity this Advent season.
All children grades K5-6th are invited to sing in the Children’s Nativity Choir on December 24 at our Family Nativity Service. Rehearsals are Dec 7, 14 &21 during the 11 am service. Kids can follow the acolyte out to rehearse with Miss Beth. Rehearsals will be in Room 113. Parents can pick up after the service.
IPC Boy Scout Troop 28 is selling Christmas greenery at the lot located at Shades Cahaba Elementary School in Homewood. All sales will benefit Troop 28 and other area Boy Scout troops, regardless of when you purchase the greenery.
Additionally, all are invited to the Scout Hut for the Troop 28 Open House on Sunday, December 14 after the 11 am worship service.
Adults and Youth are invited to join us during the Sunday School hour to hear "The Plan B Christmas" from storyteller Dolores Hydock. Even with loads of carefully thought-out preparation, sometimes the big plan for a perfect Christmas just doesn't work out, and you're stuck with Plan B. Here are three stories that keep alive the hope that even if the holiday doesn't work out quite the way you thought it would, it might still turn out to be just right—or even better than anything you could have planned in the first place.
O come all ye faithful to Beer & Carols at The Grocery (2823 Central Ave. Homewood) on December 15! Enjoy great food, festive libations (non-alcoholic included), plenty of opportunities to sing along, and even a visit from Santa himself. The evening kicks off with children’s music from 5:30 - 6:30 pm, followed by classic carols for everyone from 7 - 8 pm. Space is limited and this merry night will sell out quickly, so please RSVP!
