Congregational Events

  • Order by noon on Tuesdays and pickup on Wednesday in the Great Hall between 5:30 - 6:30 PM
    Place your order now and enjoy cooking by Kim in IPC's Kitchen which includes dinner (adult and children's options), family casseroles, and soup. Check out the many Wednesday night ministries around the church and find the group that best fits you!

  • Tuesday, September 27 from 11:30 - 1:00 PM at The Gardens Cafe at the Birmingham Botanical Garden
    Register and join the Lunch Bunch crew for a great meal and fellowship each month. Locations change monthly, and all are welcome!

  • Wednesday, October 5th from 5:30 - 7:30 PM
    Drop off your children at IPC on the first Wednesdays of the month to enjoy a night of fun while you and your partner enjoy a couple of hours together.

  • Begins October 9th and ends November 19th
    Register, find a group that fits your schedule, and meet people in local IPC homes. During this six week study, all groups will be studying Hebrews: Grace and Gratitude by David A. DeSilva.

  • Thursday, October 20th from 11:30 am - 1 pm in the Great Hall large dining room
    We will hear from The Morgan Project and Lisa McNair, author of Dear Denise: Letters to the Sister I Never Knew. This Lunch and Learn is sponsored by Community Ministries and the Social Justice Book Club.

  • Thursday, October 20th from 5:30 - 7:30 at Back Forty Beer Co.
    Bring the entire family to this month's IPC Connect event "Boos and Brews" for some great fun, food, and fellowship. We are DYING to see you there!

  • Nominate IPC members to serve as Elders and Deacons in the classes of 2025, trustees to serve on the IPC Foundation, two congregants to serve as members at large on the Representative Nominating Committee and as it stands, the vice president of the congregation (who will become president in 2024). Deadline to nominate is October 5.

Children's Events

  • Discover Wednesday nights at at IPC. Bible study, crafts, and music will be offered for children K5-5th grade.

  • Sunday, October 23rd from 3 - 5 PM at the Children's Fresh Air Farm
    All ages are welcome to join IPC for this year's Fall Festival. Activities include: Pumpkin decorating, crafts, games, inflatables, face painting, hay ride, snacks, toddler friendly area, and photo booth.

  • Select your areas of interest to volunteer with the kids of IPC this fall on Wednesday afternoons and select evenings.

  • Enroll for the 2022-2023 school year at IPC's Day School. Fill out the online registration form to apply.

Youth Events

  • Sign up for our 10 am service through Sept. 4, or our 8:45 am and 11 am Sunday worship services for the remainder of the fall.

  • The presbytery of Sheppards and Lapsley youth council is hosting a Presbytery retreat October 15-16 at Living River! You won't want to miss this week of growth and fellowship with youth from other churches within our Presbytery.

Volunteer Opportunities

  • Volunteer with IPC's free after-school program for third and fourth graders from Hayes K-8. Students begin the program after school on Oct. 11 meeting Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 3:15 p.m. to 4:45 p.m.

  • Join members and friends of IPC on September 28 from 11:30 - 12:30 PM for a service project in the Garage at Highland Hall following Women at the Well to pack lunches for Food for our Journey (FFOJ).

  • Kick-off our annual Harvest for Hunger campaign with a family-friendly Crop Drop on Sunday, Oct. 16, from 1 - 6 pm. All ages 5 and up are invited to help sack potatoes for our neighbors who struggle with food insecurity. Childcare for under 5 provided. Sign up deadline is Oct. 1.

  • Provide and serve dinner for the women and children staying at First Light each night the week of October 2-8. Great activity for a family or group!

  • Help us serve 35 families each week by signing up to pack food boxes, greet families, and transport food at East Lake Market.

  • Help us to continue refilling our Blessing Boxes and Weekend Buddy Bags. Donations can be dropped off or sent via a delivery service Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm to IPC Community Ministries' entrance on 31st Street South, up from the covered walkway. You can sign up to bring items or consider making a monetary gift to assist IPC Food Ministiries.

  • Volunteers are needed to deliver Meals on Wheels in the Kingston neighborhood, where a significant part of IPC's local community outreach is focused. Interested volunteers should sign up directly with Meals on Wheels.
