  • “...in the beginning was the Word..." Discussing John’s Gospel of Faith

    Reformed Class, RM 309
The most theological of the gospels, the gospel of John speaks through the compelling imagery of light and darkness to establish the divinity of Christ and His desire that each of us come to faith, and eternal life, in Him.
Led by Wendell Allen and members of the class.

  • Love Carved in Stone—A Fresh Look at the Ten Commandments

    Presbyterian Women, RM 304
What would it mean to consider the Ten Commandments not as a harsh list of what not to do but, instead, as a “love letter” from a loving God? “Moral behavior matters, not simply because immoral actions can anger or disappoint God, but because principled behavior is how love becomes real, both toward God and in community.” Love Carved in Stone is a Bible study that helps us reframe the way we look at and live in the world.
Led by members of the class.

  • New Testament Rhetoric: An Introductory Guide to the Art of Persuasion

    Wonder Years & Seekers Classes, RM 305 & 306
This class introduces "The Hebrew Prophets and Their Social World" by Victor Matthews. Using archaeology and ancient Near Eastern texts, the prophets are examined in their historical context, alongside the geography, culture, and social forces that shaped them. The class will consider the vital role prophets played in the development of ancient Israelite religion.
Led by Rev. Nicole Newton, Matt Hunter, and Larry Krannich

  • Presbyterian 101: Digging Deep Into Our FaithCombined classes: Bridges, Crossroads, Trenches and Foundations, RM 308
Using the “Big God, Big Questions” confirmation curriculum as our guide and drawing from the Book of Order, Book of Confessions, and voices of reformed thinkers past and present, we will explore what it means to be Presbyterian today. Together we will dig our roots deep into our tradition and discover how it shapes our own journeys of faith. Come join the conversation.
Led by Rev. Nicole Newton and various class members
