Before and After School Extracurricular Activities
IPC Day School offers a variety of extracurricular activities before and after the school day through independent providers. These optional programs give children additional opportunities to explore their interests, build confidence, and develop new skills.
Extracurricular activities are not held on days when the Day School is not in session.
Important Note
Extracurricular programs are independently operated and are not managed by the IPC Day School office. Each provider is responsible for its own registration, fees, communication, schedules, and program details.
Schedule
- Before School: 8:00 – 9:00 a.m.
- After School: 1:00 – 2:00 p.m.
Registration & Payment
- Registration and payment are required before the first class.
- Program fees are paid directly to each extracurricular provider.
- Separate payments are required for each provider.
- Refunds are not available after the first week of classes.
- Please contact the individual provider directly for registration information, fees, class dates, and other program-specific details.

School Days | 8 - 9 am and 1 - 2 pm
Play Pals offers before and/or after-school enrichment activities for all children and operates every day of the week. Under the guidance of Chrystal Kracke, children can sign up for the entire session or attend as 'drop-ins' depending on availability. The program provides a fun environment where children can enjoy free play. Follow the link for additional information and to register your child.

Monday Afternoons | 1 - 2 pm
Little Artists is offered on Mondays as an extracurricular activity with Day School Teacher Barbara Day for 3’s, 4’s, and 5’s. The Curriculum is designed to encourage creativity and expand on drawing and painting techniques appropriate for young children. We will read favorite books and create art of our favorite characters or scenery. The children will learn to use a variety of mediums- such as oil pastels, watercolor, and textures. This class is for any child who desires to learn and explore.

Tuesday Afternoons | 1 - 2 pm
Kid Tigerz is Birmingham’s most dynamic martial arts program for kids ages 3-kindergarten. Our program is designed to help kids learn to listen, respect people around them, and expand their focus. Our age-appropriate drills, skills, and games are uniquely geared for physical, mental, and character development. Best of all, it is engaging and FUN! We also include monthly take-home character packets with activities and a character word lesson inside.

Wednesday Afternoons | 1 - 2 pm
Soccer Shots is offered as an extracurricular activity for children enrolled in Three-Year-Olds, Four-Year-Olds, and Five-Year-Olds. The program promotes the benefits of athletic involvement, including self-discipline, social interaction, physical fitness, and healthy habits. It also places a strong emphasis on positive role models and character development. Soccer Shots provides young children with an engaging opportunity to develop a love for soccer while building foundational skills, confidence, teamwork, and a strong foundation for lifelong fitness.

Thursday Mornings | 8 - 9 am
Tippi Toes of Birmingham is thrilled to be offering their high-energy dance class right here at school on Thursday mornings for students ages 3-5 years old. The mission of Tippi Toes is to cheerfully provide children with a joyful, positive, and nurturing environment through dance. We incorporate a mix of ballet, tap, and jazz dance during class time using imaginative, high-energy music. Students learn choreography to multiple dances throughout the year and get to show off their moves at winter and spring recitals!

Thursday Afternoons | 1 - 2 pm
Little Musicians will be offered on Thursday afternoons from 1–2 pm. This class is for children enrolled in the 3-year-old classes and up. It is designed to explore different genres of music through movement, dance, and musical instruments. Each session will begin with a warm-up to refresh our minds and bodies, preparing us for a fun and engaging musical exploration.

Friday Mornings | 8 - 9 am
Can preschoolers really learn chess? You bet they can! The Knight School Little Geniuses Chess Program is a preschool chess class for our 3’s classes and older with an ingenious curriculum designed to exactly target, stimulate, and delight the preschool mind. Kids report Little Geniuses to be the favorite part of their week because kids love our developmentally-targeted, infectiously-fun thinking activities and find them compelling, exhilarating, and extremely gratifying.

Friday Afternoons | 1 - 2 pm
Little Yogis is offered on Friday afternoons as an extracurricular activity with yoga instructor Mystie Arnold for children enrolled in the 3’s, 4’s, and 5’s classes. The curriculum provides a fun and playful way for young children to stretch, move, and strengthen their bodies, while fostering focus, memory, self-regulation, body awareness, motor skills, and self-esteem. Mystie also incorporates storytelling and imaginative activities to make each session engaging and memorable. Class size is limited to 15 children.
