IPC Food Ministries
Help us to continue refilling our Blessing Boxes, Weekend Buddy Bags, and Food Pantry.
Donations to serve our neighbors are always needed. Items can be dropped off or sent via a delivery service Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm, to IPC Community Ministries' entrance on 31st Street South, up from the covered walkway. You may dial 205 933-3726 to let us know when you plan to arrive, and we will meet you or your delivery service at the entrance to accept the donation. You can also shop our Amazon wish list to have items delivered directly to Community Ministries
Weekend Buddy Bags
The Weekend Buddy Bags (WBB) program is one of our newest IPC Food Ministries delivering snack bags to local students. Thanks to ongoing support, we grew to provide more than 200 WBBs to students at Hayes K-8 School monthly during the spring of 2002. This summer, we began serving families in IPC's Summer Learning Program by providing WBBs to each participating student. We plan to pick back up in providing WBB to students at Hayes K-8 School in August 2022.
Below find the sign-up links for donations for the coming months. We ask that you please only donate from the lists.

Special Letter of Gratitude from Dr. Stewart, Hayes K-8 Interim Principal
"The Hayes K8 Faculty & Staff is excited to collaborate with The Independent Presbyterian Church for the Weekend Buddy Bags. The partnership with The Independent Presbyterian Church for the Weekend Buddy Bags has provided a measure of hope for our students. This opportunity has bridged the gap where there is no local food or grocery store in this area where students or families may gather needed supplies for nourishment. The Weekend buddy bags offer nutritious snacks and meal supplements to each student. We embrace each opportunity to collaborate with our community partners. The unwavering demonstration of support is commendable."
In Service,
Dr. T. N. Stewart

Harvest for Hunger
Each fall, join us for our annual Harvest for Hunger drive when we have a special call for members to bring food and hygiene items to the church. During the annual campaign, you can pick up a Harvest for Hunger grocery sack at IPC and return your filled bags for the Harvest for Hunger dedication and celebration. You can also contribute money to pay for the purchase of fresh and frozen food to supplement the non-perishable items.
Food Pantry Sign Up
IPC Food Pantry Sign Up allows you to pledge food donations and/or become a volunteer. Volunteers can host clients, help shelve donations or assist during special events.
If you need help from IPC Social Services or Food Pantry
We primarily assist people by appointment at 205 933-1687. Our coordinator will be in touch to set up an appointment for your food assistance. We can normally provide about 25 families per week with food. We receive many more calls, so it may take a couple of weeks to accommodate you.
How can IPC members help with the Social Services Ministry?
Financial contributions are always needed for the Social Services account. Tax-deductible checks can be made out to “IPC Social Services.”
