As I reflect on my life and faith, I am deeply grateful for the role IPC has played in shaping my family, Richard, our three children, and me, over the past 26 years. From baptisms to funerals, and all the sacred moments in between, this church family has been a steady and faithful presence. I have found joy in participating in the life of the church— serving on the search committee for the Director of The Children’s Fresh Air Farm, being a Catechist, supporting the IPC Day School and HERO scholarships, volunteering with Boy Scouts, and serving as an Elder. I have loved watching our children acolyte, participate in youth group activities, and be supported in their faith into college and beyond. I have been reminded again and again of the power of this community of Christ to nurture, strengthen, and sustain us through every season of life. What brings you joy here at IPC?
Our stewardship theme this year is Joyful Generosity. The Apostle Paul writes, “Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” (2 Corinthians 9:7, NIV). This verse reminds us that giving is not simply an obligation but an opportunity— an act of joy and gratitude for all God has given us.
When we give to the church, we are not just supporting programs or maintaining a building— we are investing in the people, ministries, and mission that make our church the vibrant, Christ-centered community it is. Every gift allows us to worship together, teach and nurture our children in the faith, care for those in need, and extend God’s love beyond our walls.
I invite you to prayerfully consider how you and your family might participate in this season of stewardship. We pray for 100% participation from our members. If you are new to pledging, make this year the time to join in with joyful generosity, no matter the size of your gift. Your faithful giving ensures that our church remains a place of comfort, growth, and hope— not just for us, but for generations to come. Together, with hearts full of joy, our generosity will continue to strengthen the foundation of our church.
