Our Spring Cleaning For Good event benefits two organizations impacting the greater Birmingham community. Please join our efforts as we collect bicycles in any condition, men’s gently worn/new tennis shoes or work boots, gently worn/new adult t-shirts, new socks (men’s sizes), and new washcloths.
Our bicycles will go to Trips for Kids, an organization that refurbishes used bicycles for students in the Birmingham area and teaches bike safety. Our other goods will go to Faith Chapel Care Center, a partner that provides shower and laundry services to our homeless neighbors.
Please join IPC at the 2024 Big Apple Gala benefitting First light. This fundraising gala is a night of hope and compassion, where the community comes together to support those in need. Guests are encouraged to dress in their favorite "modern cocktail" attire (think Big Apple style!) while enjoying an elegant evening filled with gourmet NYC cuisine by Tre Luna, beer, wine, a bourbon education tasting with Scott Jones of Jones is Thirsty, New York City inspired Tito's vodka cocktails, live music and inspiring speeches. The gala serves as a reminder of the importance of coming together to address homelessness and provide support for vulnerable women and their families in our community.

IPC Connect invites the entire family to enjoy a lovely spring evening of fellowship, food, cocktails, music, and lots of fun on Thursday, April 25 beginning at 6 pm. The cost is $25 per adult with no cost for children.

A group of members from IPC, including the Social Justice Book Club, are planning a trip to visit The Equal Justice Initiative's Freedom Monument Sculpture Park in Montgomery on Friday, May 3. The group will depart from IPC at 8 am and return by 4 pm. If you are interested in joining this group, please contact Melissa Self Patrick before Tuesday, April 30 to secure your tickets.

Join us on Sunday, May 5th during the 10:00 Sunday School Hour on the IPC Playground to celebrate those graduating the 2's Atrium! We will present a Storybook Bible to them, Growing in God's Love, followed by a celebration with juice and donut holes. All are welcome to receive this Storybook Bible, just let us know that you are coming!
Catechesis will have extended atrium time for children in 1st - 6th grade on the first Sunday of the month. Children will stay in the Atrium for extra time of exploration and will join the congregation for communion during the 11 am service.
Congregational Care is hosting a new support group for members and friends of IPC who may be serving as a caregiver for a loved one with a chronic, life-altering condition. If you are a caregiver for someone with Dementia, Parkinson’s, cancer, ALS, or any other chronic illness, we welcome you to join us for this six-week group. We will meet on Wednesdays beginning on April 3 at 10:30 am in Room 304 at IPC. This group will offer support with an opportunity to connect with others in similar situations and provide some new tools to help you care for yourself even as you care for your loved one. Dr. Stewart Jackson, Counseling Associate at IPC, will facilitate the group. The Rev. Susan Clayton will also be part of the group to offer pastoral support.
Join us in the Sanctuary during the 11 am worship service as we have a special time of recognition for youth who have completed Confirmation this year.
Join us in the Sanctuary on May 19 at 11 am for a special time recognizing our 6th graders as they transition from Children to Youth Ministries followed by a lunch in the Great Hall after worship for students and their families.
The IPC Choir Spring Concert on May 19 at 4 pm will feature the music of the American composer Randall Thompson. Selections include the String Quartet No. 1 and the choral work Frostiana – seven Country Songs of the poetry of Robert Frost accompanied by chamber orchestra.
All children ages 2 - 5 are invited to join Counselor Sam and Lumen for a summer adventure at Camp Firelight. Campers will learn to face their fears while trusting in God. Registration for members opens January 8 and February 5 for non-members. Childcare is available for all volunteers on the days of volunteering.

We invite you to join us for an IPC Kids summer tradition at the Fresh Air Farm as we travel with Moses. Registration for camp opens January 8 for IPC members and February 5 for non-members. Bibletimes Marketplace is for children who have completed Kindergarten-5th grade, & Tribal Assistants are for youth who have completed 6th - 12th grade.
Birmingham City children come to the farm each summer for six weeks of reading, writing, and mathematics in the mornings, as well as afternoons filled with art, music, drama, science, and swimming. We need your help, so please consider signing up to serve in one of the areas linked below.
Living River is hosting the Elementary Summer Camp on June 17 - 21 for rising Kindergarten through 6th graders. Please let us know your interest in attending as a camper or chaperone through the link below.
Kids are invited to learn more about God, their own faith, the world, and themselves through keynotes, small groups, hands-on activities, asking questions, and having meaningful discussions. Camps foster a love of nature and good stewardship of creation by spending lots of time outdoors and learning about nature and caring for it.
Church offices will be closed in observance of the holiday.
Volunteer with your family or a group to provide evening meals for the women and children staying at First Light. IPC will be providing evening meals each night for the week of June 23 - 29.
Completed 6th & 7th Graders are invited to join IPC at the Montreat Middle School Conference on July 17 - 21, 2022 at Maryville College in Maryville Tennessee.
Women’s Connection 2024 will be a time for women to connect with old and new friends, a time to care for yourself; a time for space and Sabbath. This year's Keynote Speaker is Becca Stevens of Thistle Farms.
STAIR 3.0 is an incredible program that continues to yield amazing results! This bi-weekly program offers one-on-one tutoring sessions to 3rd-graders at Hayes K-8 to help improve their literacy skills. In the fall, we will seek volunteers for Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 3:15 pm to 4:15 pm. You can sign up for either day or both days.
